Today marks the birth of one of America’s most fearless champions of equality, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as well as the inauguration of our President Barack H. Obama. Aside from the history that was made today, we couldn’t help but notice some presidential fashion. The color of the day is purple, so lookout for variations on this hue throughout our slideshow. 1. First Lady Michelle Obama
“[The first] lady paired her collarless fit-and-flare coat with J. Crew shoes, just like in 2009. Her dress is Thom Browne design. Unlike 2009, FLOTUS now has a [sic] set of blunt bangs, first debuted last Thursday in an online video posted by the White House. The new hairstyle, Michelle’s most drastic beauty change in the past four years, has been all the talk of the fashion (and non-fashion) world.” – The Huffington Post style section
