In 1989, Time Warner launched The Comedy Channel as the first channel dedicated to comedy-based programming. The first show to gain early success on the network was Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, which was soon acquired by the ABC network. Continuing with the political parody format, Comedy Central created The Daily Show first hosted by Craig Kilborn, but gained real success with the second host Jon Stewart. The first breakthrough animated series to air on the network, South Park premiered in 1997. Since then, Comedy Central has expanded their programming to include sketch comedy, social media commentary, more animated series and update political satires.
Some of the most notable series to air on the network include: Chappelle Show, Futurama, Reno 911, Tosh.O, The Colbert Report and Key & Peele.
Congratulations to our clients on their request by Divine Management for the Comedy Central promo.
