Modeling Audition Tips
Plenty of people see models everyday: they cover the pages of magazines and billboards, they glide across our TV screens, and so many wonder…how did they get there? The answer is that most models attend modeling auditions to land the amazing jobs that you see in your magazine and on your television.
Modeling is a prominent industry in which men and women are chosen to display or represent a number of brands or products. Models are used in a range of advertisements from sports cars, to clothing and accessories. Modeling auditions are held to cast the correct model that works the best for the particular ad. Model auditions are held all over the country to help casting directors cast models for a certain project.
Modeling auditions are normally pretty quick and painless. Models are usually asked to take a number and then are called in to meet with the casting director one by one. Once the models are in front of the casting director the production assistant will normally take a Polaroid or digital photo of the talent. Depending on the project the model may be recorded on camera, and asked to act out a certain scenario. A model audition normally does not last much longer than ten minutes. If the casting director is interested in the model he will contact their agency directly and schedule a call back audition, or request to book them for the job. One important bit of advice on how to have a successful model audition is to always be on time! Models should never show up for an audition late, as this could hurt their chances of booking the job. Female models should also typically attend modeling auditions fresh-faced, not too made up, with clean hair, casual clothing and high heels to accentuate their height and figure. Male models should attend auditions clean shaven and casual dressed as well. Unless the audition calls for a specific attire or look, these are the general rules of attire for modeling auditions.
Many models are constantly searching for information regarding modeling auditions. Typically models are informed about auditions by their agency that they may be signed to or freelance with. Modeling agencies help to find and offer opportunities that will enhance their career, these can include model auditions, casting calls, and even modeling jobs.
